What is your name and the name of your company (or business or enterprise or organisation) and what does  your company do?

My name is Trish Johnson and the name of my company is Corporate Secrets-AdminPro.
I am a Consultant – Administrative Services

I offer consulting services to firms on a short and long-term basis evaluating opportunities for development of Administrative teams. My services provide your Admin teams with a positive, proactive approach to their respective roles, and creates a cohesive team atmosphere. I also instruct the teams on efficient time management techniques and computer applications, and provide them with avenues that lead to viable business development opportunities for the firm overall.

What got you started?
With over 25 years in business in various roles and industries, I am an entrepreneur that is endeavouring to get my consulting business going following a layoff.

What is your inspiration?
Layoff and entrepreneurial spirit.
Success and making a difference in peoples lives.

What is your target market?  Who are your ideal customers?
Local Vancouver firms where I can work on-site versus ‘virtually’ or off-site.

What makes your offering unique?
My proactive approach and experience, business development and competitive intelligence skill sets.

Why should people do business with you?
Because I can add value for their firms overall.

Do you have anything to offer anyone that is not directly within your industry or directly seeking your services?
Yes definitely, there are a myriad of services that I could provide outside of my goals with AdminPro’s – my site applies to ‘any’ business really. However, my ‘expertise’ over the years is in the EA field. If an individual needed assistance I am sure I could provide it or help them in some way.

Is there any discount that you could offer to anyone who contacts you as a result of this blog post?
Yes, I have an ad on Google that my ‘first’ client is FREE of charge for downtown Vancouver – this also applies to any ‘virtual’ client. Naturally, this does not mean I would take on a 1 week assignment for FREE – I am referring to a 1-2 day project that I would complete for free to support the ‘value’ I would bring to the organization and get a reference from that firm.

Any further words?
I have worked in various industries, including Personnel Consulting, Real Estate, Financial Services firms (Big 4), and Retail. I have also operated my own Word Processing business in Calgary, Alberta. I have a strong background supported by a proactive approach to everything I take on. I am a ‘results oriented’ individual, and drive myself to get a job done well, and before deadline. I am very interested in Research, Marketing, Business Development, HR and of course, Writing. I am also known as an excellent ‘resource’ for locating client specific information and revenue producing opportunities for my firm. I have usually been the ‘go-to’ person in this area, as well as computer troubleshooting and program instruction on various platforms. I am a computer geek, and type approximately 120wpm.

How did you get started?
I started by studying English at University in Paris and after completing a degree I thought of what job I could do with this and moved on to Information Management and took a further degree in this. I worked as a document manager with Horizon Asset Management – a very international company with offices in London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam – for a couple of years and enjoyed it but realized that the tasks that excited me the most were to translate file names and build bilingual glossaries. So this led me to go back to languages and do a Post Graduate Diploma in Translating and Technology.

What is your inspiration?
For others : Allow people who don’t speak the same language to communicate and share information the best they can while still using their own language. For myself : creativity, playing with words and concepts, reading and learning more about different fields and enjoy work.

What is your Target Market? Who is your Ideal Customer?
At the moment, it is people working in the nautical industry, as well as the environmental and education sectors

What makes your offering unique?
I am a qualified translator and a hard worker, I can provide you with good quality translation. I can also be flexible with your requirements. Furthermore, because of my experience in Information Management, I am qualified to efficiently research and find the relevant information for your needs.

Because, as above, I can provide you with quality translating, I have experience in the fields I work in and I am a very reliable person. All the people who have worked with me so far have been satisfied with my services.

How did you get started?
I was working previously in removals, and I spotted the opportunity to diversify into cleaning as an additional revenue stream for my business.  I had prior experience in this, so I was able to subcontract work from other cleaning companies.

What is your inspiration or aim?
My aim is to grow the business to a point where I can provide employment for other people – when this happens I will most likely focus on  managing people, which I quite enjoy.

What is your Target Market, or who is your Ideal Customer?
We happily cater to the domestic “home” market. However, I would like to move the company more to the professional market, so to cater more to offices, building contractors, big refurbishments, work in office blocks etc

What makes your offering unique, or why should people do business with you?
We offer an extremely high standard of cleaning, with fair but reasonable charges, and very high attention to detail

What got you started?
I started off this business just over a year ago, in September 2008.  Before this, I would decorate the church where our local church meets, and I discovered I quite liked that!   That was when it occurred to me that I could go into this commercially. So I set up my business on 1st September last year, and since then the business has coordinated approximately 8 events

What is your inspiration?
I simply enjoy it!
